Cosy holiday let in Welcombe village near to a thatched pub
Little Nod is a comfortable bungalow situated on a small secluded site of 12 properties and is open all year round. The site is behind a beautiful thatched pub and each bungalow has a dedicated car parking space.
There are 2 bedrooms, sleeping 4 people altogether. It is ideal for couples, or families and one well behaved dog is welcome (we sometimes allow 2, but would need to talk to you about it first).
We have a phone for our guests' use with free anytime calls, including
short calls to mobiles and unlimited wifi broadband. There is a new 40" Smart TV with Freeview.
Welcombe beach is a mile and a half away and has a small free car park. It can be accessed on foot, down the lane, through a wooded valley. There is a stretch of sand at low tide with pebbles and rock pools.
Welcombe is a village on the North Devon/Cornwall border, popular with walkers, surfers and families. Visitors return year after year to enjoy the peace, quiet and natural beauty of the area. There is a large nature reserve nearby, as well as the coast path. The wooded coombes and sunken leafy lanes are crowded with primroses in the Spring.
The Old Smithy Inn has a lovely beer garden to enjoy on a summer's day and an open fire in wintertime. They serve excellent food, real ales and good wines. Dogs, children and walking boots all welcome! It also has free wifi. See the video below taken on a folk night. There is a village shop which has a post office counter 2 mornings a week and offers a pre-ordering delivery service for your arrival. There is also a small working pottery, just up the road. There are other pubs and shops in nearby villages and Bude is about 20 minutes away by car. Local attractions include stunning local beaches, Marsland Nature Reserve, the SW Coast Path, Bude, Tintagel, Boscastle, The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, The Gnome Reserve, Docton Mill Gardens, Clovelly, Hartland Abbey, Hartland Quay, Dartington Crystal and Rosemoor RHS Gardens. Dartmoor, Bodmin and Exmoor are all easily reached for a day, as are Eden and Heligan. There is even a small, independently run, cinema just south of Bude that shows all the current films. See the Local Attractions page for links to all these places and also places to eat.
